The series production of various JULABO temperature control instruments takes place at the Lahr site - including the associated logistics processes. The focus is particularly on energy-optimized production methods and the insertion of state-of-the-art technologies. Modular assembly islands, driverless transport systems, the AutoStore system (fully automated storage system) and digitally controlled processes ensure efficient processes and a high level of delivery reliability. The direct connection to the A5 highway, the main artery of the Upper Rhine, enables fast access for logistics and deliveries.

The PlusEnergy building, which is certified according to the strict criteria of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB), generates more energy than it consumes thanks to a powerful photovoltaic system. An energy-efficient building envelope and naturally designed outdoor areas underline the clear commitment to sustainable building. A particularly low carbon footprint was already achieved during construction by reusing old airfield materials and reducing energy-intensive building materials. The plant thus embodies JULABO's strategic goal of "GoGreen" and serves as a showcase project for resource-conserving economic activity.

Easily accessible - and a place to feel good

The Lahr plant offers a modern, healthy working environment and is also excellently connected - the ideal combination for commuters and anyone who wants to work in the region. Located directly on the A5 and easily accessible from the entire Rhine valley from Freiburg to Karlsruhe as well as from neighboring France, the location also scores points with direct bus connections to the entire surrounding area and even to Alsace. E-charging points and ample on-site parking make the daily commute easier.

The interior of the site impresses with its well thought-out workplace design: ergonomic workstations, low-emission basic materials, innovative ventilation technology with special filters for clean air and daylight control create a pleasant and productive atmosphere. An air-to-water heat pump ensures a pleasant indoor climate all year round - whether for cooling in summer or heating in winter.
